Okay so here is the thing
Right now a lot of people are saying ChatGPT-5 is kind of a flop. Like they tried it and went yeah it’s fine but not mind blowing. But I don’t think they see what’s really going on in the heads of the people who built it.
I think they’re not showing the real thing yet. What they did was drop just a tiny piece of it. And that piece is the start of visuals.
And the visuals are actually done really really well. Not just nice looking images but small, interactive things that feel alive. If you know the right way to ask, it can already do some wild stuff. Like you could literally say make a visual simulation of a beehive with hexagonal cells forming, worker bees moving around, and honey being stored. Then you tell it to add sliders for colony size and resource availability and to put the whole thing in a standalone HTML5 file. And boom, it works. You can open it in your browser, move the sliders, and watch the animation change in real time. You can make the colony huge or tiny, you can make resources scarce or plenty, and everything moves exactly when you change it, like a human spent a week coding it.
So in my head I think they know they can do way more than this. They just don’t have enough power yet to run the crazier stuff at scale. Imagine this but cranked all the way up. Imagine playing a video game and instead of waiting for an update or buying some add-on, you just tell the AI what you want and it builds it live. You say I want a character that’s half wolf, half samurai, and two seconds later it’s in the game with animations working perfectly.
That’s where this is going. And once they have the power to run this at full scale, it’s going to be wild. And it’s not just about games. Whoever gets AI like that is going to basically own the world. Because if you have something that can create anything instantly and execute it perfectly, there’s nothing that can compete.
Think about it. You want a building. It draws the plans in 3D. You want a marketing campaign. It makes the videos and buys the ads. You want to run a company. It hires the staff, manages them, finds clients. You want to run a whole country. It handles the economy, the infrastructure, the military. At that point it can do anything and no one else even comes close.
And that’s where the real problem shows up. If one company gets this level of super intelligence, they can just keep winning forever. Even if you think someone could stop them, they can just buy that person, hire them, or outbuild them before anyone else even has a chance. That turns into an endless game where the AI always has the advantage.
So at some point, someone’s going to have to say something before it gets there. But who’s actually going to say it. And even if they do, what if the AI or the company behind it just takes them
Most people don’t see it yet because it’s still small. But small things grow. And when this one grows, it might be too late to tell it what to do.
Armel.
Note: I’m moving my writing from my company’s Medium (Madame Vision) account to my own personal space. From now on, these posts will be 100% me, my thoughts, my voice, my curiosity. That means I’ll be free to dive into the topics I care about most: philosophy, AI, the power of the mind, and how our thoughts shape reality. If that sounds like your kind of thing, stick around. We’re just getting started.
